Medewi

Bali’s longest left, ride for days

A long left-hand point break that can run for 200+ meters on a good swell. Cobblestone bottom, a 2.5h drive from Canggu but worth it.

Medewi — Frequently asked

Why is Medewi a longboard wave?

Medewi is a long, slow point break that wraps around a cobblestone headland for 200-300m on a good set. Waves are mushy, fat-shouldered, and roll forever — perfect for trim-style longboarding, terrible for performance shortboarding.

How long is the drive from Canggu to Medewi?

About 2.5-3 hours each way (75km, mostly coastal road). Leave Canggu by 04:30 to make first-light glassy sessions. Worth it on a clean SW swell — you'll have 30+ minute paddles back to the takeoff.

Are Medewi cobblestones rough on feet?

Yes. The whole entry is round black river stones — uneven, slippery, and warm in the sun. Bring reef booties. Walk slowly, use a leash plug carry handle, and don't try to run into the water.
