Thruster (3 fins) — the universal default
Best for: medium-to-fast waves with vertical sections. Uluwatu, Bingin, Padang. Provides drive + control. The setup 80% of Bali surfers ride 80% of the time.
Quad (4 fins) — the speed setup
Best for: long-walled point breaks, fast soft beach breaks. Medewi, soft Canggu days. Less drag, more glide. Trickier to turn vertically.
Twin (2 fins) — the fun setup
Best for: small-to-medium glassy days at Berawa, Old Man's, Echo Beach. Fast, loose, and absolutely fun. Useless above head-high.
