Keramas — Frequently asked
→What time should I surf Keramas?
Dawn patrol — be in the water by 06:00. Keramas faces east, so morning offshore winds keep the wave clean for a 2-3 hour window. By mid-morning the on-shores arrive and the lineup blows out.
→Is Keramas a reef break?
Yes, sharp volcanic reef. Right-hand, hollow, fast, and shallow on lower tides. Reef booties strongly recommended. Heavy enough to host the WSL Pro Tour Krui Pro back in the day.
→How crowded is Keramas during the dry season?
Very, but more spread out than Bukit lineups because the takeoff zone is longer. 40-60 surfers on a good morning is normal, with locals dominating the inside section and visiting pros sitting wider.
